First-Hand: How Our Apprentices Experience Their Training

FAQs

  • What does the application process look like?

Start by selecting a suitable apprenticeship position on our careers portal and upload your resume along with all relevant school and work certificates. We also recommend including a cover letter so we can better understand your motivation for the chosen career path.

Our HR team will carefully review your documents. If everything fits, we’ll invite you to an interview.

The first interview usually takes place with your future trainer. In some cases, there may be a second interview or a personal introduction to the team shortly afterwards. You’ll receive feedback – either an acceptance or rejection – within a few days of each interview.

  • Is it possible to get a first-hand experience of the apprenticeship?

Yes! We offer short internships (from one day up to two weeks), giving you a chance to get to know both the company and the apprenticeship. You’ll gain hands-on experience in the following areas:

    Industrial Clerk (Hameln)

You’ll get to know departments like Purchasing, Sales, Accounting, and HR. You can try out simple tasks such as creating invoices, processing orders, or maintaining databases. This gives you a good overview of business processes and interdepartmental cooperation.

    Industrial Mechanic (Hameln)

During your trial days, you'll observe how our machines are manufactured. You’ll also be given simple mechanical tasks to complete independently. Before your internship begins, you’ll receive a safety briefing explaining key regulations and how to handle tools and machinery.

Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering (Hameln)

You'll learn how electrical systems are installed on machines and get hands-on experience by setting up basic circuits or troubleshooting electrical issues. A safety briefing will also be provided before your internship begins.

These trial days offer a realistic glimpse into everyday work and help you decide whether the job suits you.

  • What are my chances of being hired after the apprenticeship?

We train to retain. Our goal is to secure skilled workers for the future, so we strive to offer permanent positions to apprentices after successful completion of their training. About six months before your apprenticeship ends, we’ll discuss your opportunities for continued employment with you.

  • Are there opportunities for further training or specialization after the apprenticeship?

    Yes!

If you're in a technical apprenticeship, you can expand your expertise through specialized training, such as becoming a certified technician.

As an industrial clerk, you can pursue further education in your area of interest. Depending on your educational background, you may even be eligible for a part-time degree in Business Administration

  • Is it possible to shorten the duration of the apprenticeship?

Yes, the apprenticeship for industrial clerks can be shortened under certain conditions:

Educational Background: With A-levels or vocational A-levels, the duration can be reduced to 2.5 years.

Previous Experience: Prior relevant training or work experience in a commercial field may also allow a reduction.

Performance: Outstanding performance during the apprenticeship can lead to a shortened duration.

In all cases, an application must be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce (IHK), together with the company.
